The third annual Arts and Crafts-Chicago Show and Sale will feature furniture and accessories from the American and English Arts and Crafts Movement (1890-1920).
Homeowners interested in acquiring pieces and/or educating themselves as to the appropriate furnishings for their turn of the century bungalows and craftsman style homes should come to the Geiseman Gym on the campus of Concordia University in River Forest Illinois Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday, May 18th from 11:00 AM –4:00 PM. Admission is only $7.

Two Workshops Offered
| Stenciling Your Bungalow: The Essentials of a Vintage Art with Amy Miller, founder of Trimbelle River Studio |
A great way to become familiar with this decorative art, this fun workshop teaches you the essentials of vintage stenciling often found on walls, curtains & table linens in Arts & Crafts period homes. With plenty of hands-on experience and guidance, Amy will lead you through some of the various techniques in her recent book (Stenciling the Arts & Crafts Home). So come be amazed at what you can do and vanquish those stenciling inhibitions!

Choosing color is often difficult for most homeowners. Understanding how to choose the correct color and shade will be discussed in detail. Images of beautiful homes will help illustrate the use of light, color and texture. Karen will share simple procedures that will assist the Craftsman enthusiast, even if you don’t live in a bungalow!
Come to this interactive workshop with a photo of your home or a room that you would like to transform. Everyone will create a color palette to take home, using paint chips, fabrics and carpet designs. All materials will be provided.
Karen L. Hovde of Interior Vision in the Craftsman Style has been published in many prestigious Magazines. Karen’s own home has been featured in Style 1900, Better Homes and Gardens, and a Japanese home magazine. Her work has been included in the hard bound books: Bungalow Nation and Recreating the Bungalow. American Bungalow magazine has featured the work of Karen Hovde in ten issues. The current issue features her work as the cover story.
